Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Classification & Labelling & PBT assessment

PBT assessment

Administrative data

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Persistence Assessment

The substance only demonstrates slow biodegradation, but does degrade rapidly in light to form metabolites that are predicted to be more water soluble and perhaps more biodegradable.

Bioaccumulation Assessment

The partition coefficient of the substance and photolytic degradation products have measured or estimate partition coefficients of < Log 4. A sufficiently high bioconcentration factor to be considered ‘B’ or ‘vB’ is unlikely.

Toxicity Assessment

No indication from mammalian toxicity that the CMR criteria is met. The substance is certain very toxic to aquatic organisms, but not meeting the ‘T’ criteria.

Summary and overall Conclusions on PBT or vPvB Properties

The substance, and its photolytic metabolites are not considered to be PBT or vPvB.

Likely routes of exposure:

Emissions are considered only to take place during periodic formulating activities at chemical blending facilities. The substance is not supplied to the general public and once formulated into inks or surface coatings, will be bound into the products upon exposure to light
