Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to fish: 96-h LC50 value of 2.44 mg/L in Poecilia reticulata (non-GLP, OECD 203) (Akzo Research Laboratories Arnhem, 1991)

Long-term toxicity to fish: 9-d NOEC value of 3.2 µg/L in Danio rerio (tested as Brachydanio rerio) (non-GLP, OECD 210) (Akzo Research Laboratories Arnhem, 1991)

Short-term toxicity to invertebrates: 48-h EC50 value of 0.91 mg/L in Daphnia magna (non-GLP, OECD 202) (van Leeuwen et al., 1985a; van Leeuwen 1986)

Long term toxicity to invertebrates: 21-d NOEC value of 14 µg/L in Daphnia magna (non-GLP, near guideline study) (van Leeuwen et al., 1985b; van Leeuwen, 1986).

Algae: 96-h EC50 value of 1.4 mg/L in Chlorella pyrenoidosa (non-GLP, OECD 202) (van Leeuwen et al., 1985a; van Leeuwen, 1986).

Additional information

Toxicity to fish:

For short-term toxicity to fish, a non-GLP, OECD 203 guideline study is available with the guppy Poecilia reticulata conducted under semi-static conditions without analytical monitoring. Based on the results of three experiments, a mean 96-h LC50 value of 2.44 mg/L is used in the assessment (Akzo Research Laboratories Arnhem, 1991).

For long-term toxicity to fish, a 9-d NOEC value of 3.2 µg/L in Danio rerio (tested as Brachydanio rerio) from a non-GLP, OECD 210 guideline study with the guppy conducted under semi-static conditions without analytical monitoring (Akzo Research Laboratories Arnhem, 1991) is used in the assessment.

Toxicity to invertebrates:

For short-term toxicity to invertebrates, a 48-h EC50 value of 0.91 mg/L in Daphnia magna was determined in a semi-static non-GLP, OECD 202 guideline study without analytical monitoring (van Leeuwen et al., 1985a; van Leeuwen 1986) and used in the assessment.

For long-term toxicity to invertebrates, a 21-d NOEC value of 14 µg/L was determined in Daphnia magna in a semi-static non-GLP, near guideline study without analytical monitoring (van Leeuwen et al., 1985b; van Leeuwen, 1986), which is used in the assessment.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

For algae a 96-h EC50 value of 1.4 mg/L in Chlorella pyrenoidosa from a semi-static non-GLP, OECD 202 guideline study without analytical monitoring (van Leeuwen et al., 1985a; van Leeuwen, 1986) is used in the assessment.
