Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Three representative samples were subjected to heating at 25 -600°C (2 samples) and 25 -1500°C (one sample) using thermogravimetry/differential scanning calorimetry (TG/DSC). It is apparant from the results that decomposition of the sample start immediately at the start of heating. It is likely that the hydroxides decompose to oxides releasing water. The highest decomposition rates was between 234 -355°C. The melting temperatures for cobalt, nickel and manganese oxides are higher than 1500°C, and therefore not showing in the results of these analysis.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
