Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Based on QSAR calculations using the weighted measured log Kow value, the C10 alcohol is expected to have a low order of toxicity to soil dwelling organisms. The C10 alcohol may not be soluble enough to measure the predicted 14-day EC50 of 179 mg/kg.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for soil macroorganisms:
179.05 mg/kg soil dw

Additional information

Experimental long-term toxicity data for the registered substance are not available. A 14-day toxicity value was calculated using the neutral organics structure-activity relationship in the ECOSAR computer program (Nabholz and Mayo-Bean, 2009) of EPISuite; the results of which are adequate for the purpose of classification and labelling and/or risk assessment. Validity and applicability of the QSAR are described in a document attached as background material to the QSAR endpoint study record.
