Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No standard bioaccumulation studies were available on DIDS.

BCF values predicted using EPISuite (BCFBAF, a model without a defined domain) via the OECD QSAR Toolbox (v.3.0) ranged from about 0.9 (upper trophic species) to 44.7 L/kg wet weight (general BCF). BAF values predicted using the same software ranged from about 1 L/kg wet weight (upper trophic specifies) to 2.9 (lower trophic species). At a biotransformation rate of 0, a BCF of 1.7 L/kg wet weight, and a BAF of 3.9 x 103 L/kg wet weight, were predicted for upper trophic species (OECD, 2012).

A substance is classified as bioaccumulative under PBT if the BCF exceeds 2000 L/Kg (ECHA, 2012c). As a result, DIDS was not expected to bioaccumulate in aquatic species.

Relevant read-across data:

No standard bioaccumulation studies were available on DIDA or DEHS/DOS
