Additional information

5-Methylheptan-3-one has low volatility (vapour pressure 2.7 hPa at 25°C) and a relatively low molecular weight (128.2 g/mol). 5-Methylheptan-3-one is soluble in water (1.92 g/L) and it was determined to be readily biodegradable. Therefore, 5 -methylheptan-3-one will be degraded in the aquatic environment. 5-Methylheptan-3-one shows a low potential for adsorption and bioaccumulation as the log Pow value is below 3. The estimated Koc value is 204 (log Koc 2.3). Chemicals with a Koc value between 150 and 500 are likely to move through the soil at a moderate rate [1].
