Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

While not readily biodegradable, AGBC showed up to 38 % degradation in an inherent biodegradability study (OECD 302B, Zahn-Wellens), indicating the potential to degrade. Fugacity Level III modeling shows that AGBC is expected to partition preferentially into soil (69.4 %) followed by water (30.6 %), with half-lives of 30 days and 15 days respectively, well below Annex XIII criteria for persistence.

Due to its very low estimated log Kow (-6.61), AGBC is not expected to be bioaccumulative. Further, using the OECD QSAR Toolbox, a predicted BCF value of 4.4259 L/kg was obtained by read acorss from structual analogues.

AGBC meets the criteria for 'T' because it is a reproductive toxicant (Category 1B).

AGBC is not a PBT or vPvB substance under REACH.
