Preliminary test: The content of the test substance dissolved in the water sample was 1.46 g/l.

Main study: The results for the samples taken at 24, 48 and 72 hours are given in the table 9.The maximum difference (MD) of the concentrations determined in the 24, 48 and 72 hour test samples was < 15%. According to the guidelines, the water solubility of the test substance is given as the mean value of the analysed concentrations. No test substance was detected in the pre-treated samples from the blank water mixture.

Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): soluble (1000-10000 mg/L)
The flask method was chosen for the determination of the water solubility of 2-sec-butylphenol. The water solubility of the test substance at 20.1°C +/- 0.4°C was 1.46 g/l. The pH of the aqueous sample after 72 hours stirring was 8.0.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of 2 -sec-butylphenol was determined by the flask method. The method followed the OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility) and EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility).

The maximum difference (MD) of the concentrations determined in the 24, 48 and 72 hour test samples was < 15%. According to the guidelines, the water solubility of the test substance is given as the mean value of the analysed concentrations. No test substance was detected in the pre-treated samples from the blank water mixture.

The water solubility of the test substance, 2 -sec-butylphenol, at 20.1°C +/- 0.4°C was 1.46 g/l. The pH of the aqueous sample after 72 hours stirring was 8.0.
