Description of key information

The substance to be registered is Benzenesulfonic acid, di-C10-14-alkyl derivs. Read-across is based on the closest structural analogues for which high quality data were available, obtained through membership in the ATC TF-25 Consortium.
Read-across substances include the following: CAS # 115733-09-0 and 71486-79-8
The toxcity of the read-across substances has been measured experimentally with freshwater Daphnia. Due to the extremely low water solubility all studies have been conducted using Water Accomodated Fractions and completed as limit tests.

Additional information

Read-across substances include the following: CAS # 115733-09-0 and 71486-79-8

The EC50 in freshwater Daphnia is considered to be >1000 mg/l. The read-across substances are, therefore, considered not toxic to Daphnia magna.

The toxicity of the read-across substances has not been assessed using marine invertebrate species, but it is considered likely to be similar to freshwater species.
