Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The biodegradability of C12-16AS Na (CAS 7329-89-6) was investigated in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 301 B (Clarke 2005). Domestic, activated and non-adapted sludge was used as inoculum. After 28 days of exposure the biodegradation measured as CO2 evolution reached 100%; the substance is therefore considered as readily biodegradable.

The supporting test was performed according to Annex 1 of ECETOC report nr 28. This anaerobic biodegradation study demonstrated that 63.3% of the test substance is mineralised to CO2 within 35 days of exposure (Richterich, 2003).
