Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

BCF for fish have ranged from 0.8 to 2.8.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
2.59 dimensionless

Additional information

There were two studies focuses on bioaccumulation of TCPP:

1. test for the degree of bioconcentration in fish for TCPP, in accordance with OECD guideline 305C.

2. prediction by standard QSAR methods, from the TGD.

We choose the study from a standard test of TCPP as the key study, this study obeyed with the OECD TGD 305C. In this study fish were kept in flow through conditions for 28 days prior to exposure to test substance, the exposure period was six weeks after which the concentration of TCPP in fish was determined (method not stated), aquatic bioconcentration factors (BCF) for fish have ranged from 0.8 to 2.8.

The value predicted by standard QSAR method was 2.59, this value is similar to the result comes from the standard study, so this is a supporting study for the key study.
