Description of key information

In 2007, acute toxicity of DMDS to Eisenia fetida (earthworm) has been investigated by Winkelmann in a GLP study and through OECD guideline 207. The duration of the study was of 14 days.

The 14-day EC50 value for Eisenia fetida exposed to dimethyl disulfide was determined to be equal to 31.8 mg/kg soil dw.

NOEC was of 22.0 mg/kg soil dw.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Short-term EC50 or LC50 for soil macroorganisms:
31.8 mg/kg soil dw
