Additional information

A GLP compliant growth inhibition study is available for tetrafluoroboric acid. Pseudomonas putida was exposed to eleven test concentrations of tetrafluoroboric acid in a preliminary study without pH correction (1.25 to 1,285 mg/L) and in a study in which the pH was corrected to 7.4 (64.5 to 66,000 mg/L) for a period of 18 ± 2 hours under static conditions. Three replicates were considered at each of the test concentrations, for the control ten replicates were used. The growth inhibition was measured as turbidity. The 18-h EC50 and EC10 values were 6.4 and 61.3 mg/L without pH adjustment en 397 and 4974 mg/l at pH 7.4 (all values are based on nominal concentrations). The 18-h EC10 value of 397 mg/L at pH 7.4 is used in the assessment.
