Justification for classification or non-classification

Since HBF4 is a strong acid (pKa -4.9) and is therefore considered corrosive to the skin, no acute toxicity studies could be performed. Because data are lacking, HBF4 is not classified for toxicity according to EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 and according to EU Directive 67/548/EEC.
