Description of key information
The auto-ignition temperature of the substance is 310 °C at 1013 hPa.

A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. The Design Institute for Physical Properties (DIPPR) and GESTIS - Substance database of 'Berufsgenossenschaftlichen Instituts für Arbeitsschutz reports the autoignition temperature to be 310 °C at 1013.25 hPa, the HazMat Data - For First Response, Transportation, Storage, and Security reports the autoignition temperature to be 370 °C at 1013.25 hPa and the Fire Protection Guide to Hazardous Materials reports the autoignition temperature to be 371 °C at 1013.25 hPa. In a worst case view a autoignition temperature of 310°C was chosen as key value for 2-ethylhexanoic acid.
