auto-ignition temperature (liquids)
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted for liquid organic peroxides, because the vapours decompose during the execution of the test

Description of key information

Performance of an auto flammability study with tert-butyl peroxyisobutyrate (TBPPI) was waived as the substance decomposes under test conditions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Test method is not applicable because substance decomposes under test conditions. Self-Accelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT) of the TBPIB is 25 °C (reference SADT: CLP regulations and UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, 5th revised edition, sub-sections 28.1, 28.2, 28.3 and Table 28.3.)
