Description of key information

The surface tension of valeric acid was determined to be 51.6 mN/m at 20°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
51.6
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
1 000

Additional information

Two studies conducted according to OECD guideline 115 are available for valeric acid. Both studies were conducted at 20°C with a concentration of 1 g/L, reporting values of 51.6 mN/m and 66 mN/m, respectively. The study with the highest quality (Klimisch 1) has been selected as key study.
