Based on available data, transport and distribution of phenothiazine appears to be mainly dependent on the low water solubility and its moderate octanol-water and organic carbon-water coefficient.

Taking together the low vapour pressure of phenothiazine and its sensitivity to photons(HSDB data), it is concluded that distribution through the air is not a relevant transport mechanism. This is, why the aquatic compartment is considered to be mainly affected by the substance, what is in agreement with available literature (toxnet reports), where other sinks are not reported.

With a log Kow of around 3.8 and a Log Koc of around 3.8 the substance seems to be strongly bound to sediment than to be freely available in the water phase.

In conclusion, the aquatic compartment and here the sediments forms the most relevant sinks in the environment.
