Additional information

Sodium chlorate is a white to pale yellow, almost odourless, crystalline solid and is highly soluble in water. It is a strong oxidant, not combustible but reacts violently with combustible and reducing materials. There is a risk of fire and explosion in dry mixtures with other substances, especially certain organic materials.

For CLP there are additional data requirements that are not covered by REACH:

Gases under pressure

Self-reactive substances and mixtures

Self heating substances and mixtures

Corrosive against metals

Waiving, not a gas

Waiving, because the substance is a pure oxidizing solid

Waiving, based on testing (Source: TNO, PML 2004-C100, EU A.16 test, and DSC screening test for Explosive properties : no self-heating up to its melting point.)

Waiving, because there is no established suitable test method for solid substances
