Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Although the test substance as a solid ignited when exposed to a flame, the reaction did not propagate. Tests conducted to determine the flammability of the substance upon contact with water all resulted in no gas generation or spontaneous ignition.  Tests conducted to determine pyrophoric properties also resulted in no ignition.  The substance is non flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

CaDDBS was tested for flammability. Although the test substance as a solid ignited when exposed to a flame, the reaction did not propagate. The test substance is not highly flammable. In addition, tests were conducted to determine the flammability of the substance upon contact with water. In all tests no gas generation or spontaneous ignition was noted. Finally, the test substance was tested for pyrophoric properties according to EU method A.13. The test substance is not a pyrophoric solid.

Justification for classification or non-classification

CaDDBS is not classified as flammable as it does not meet the criteria specified in either the DSD or the CLP It is possible to ignite the substance when exposed to flame, but the reaction does not propagate.
