First-aid measures

Inhalation: First aid - Remove from exposure immediately.  If breathing has stopped, perform artificial respiration.  Keep person warm and at rest.  Get medical advice/attention.

Skin Contact: First aid - Remove contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.  Wash affected skin area with water and soap and rinse thoroughly until no evidence of chemicals remains.  Get medical advice/ attention.

Eye Contact: First aid - Check for and remove and contact lenses.  Immediately wash eyes with large amounts of water or normal saline, occasionally   lifting upper lid and lower lids, for several minutes until no evidence of chemical remains.  Get medical advice/attention.

Ingestion: First aid - Get medical advice/attention if needed.  If vomiting occurs, keep head lower than hips to prevent aspiration.

Fire-fighting measures

Fire and explosion hazard: Negligible fire hazard when exposed to heat or flame.

Extinguishing  Media:  Extinguish using agent suitable for the type or surrounding fire.

Firefighting: No acute hazard.  Move container from the fire area if possible.  Avoid breathing vapours or dust, keep upwind.

Hazardous Decomposition:   Thermal decomposition products may include toxic and corrosive fumes of ammonia, toxic oxides of nitrogen and        molybdenum trioxide.

Protective Equipment for Firemen:  Wear self-contained respiratory protective device and protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Occupational Spill: Sweep up and place in a suitable clean dry containers for reclamation or later disposal.  Do not flush spilled material into sewer.      Keep unnecessary people away.

Cleanup: Use a vacuum cleaner.  Clean contaminated areas thoroughly.  Make safe or remove all sources of ignition.  Steps to be taken if material is       released or spilled: Evacuate area:  Wear self-contained breathing apparatus, rubbers boots and heavy rubber gloves.  Cover with dry lime or soda     ash, pick up, keep in a closed container and hold for waste disposal.

Handling and storage

Storage: Observe all current federal, state and local regulations when storing this substance.  Store away from incompatible substances: (Ammonium  salts are incompatible with Nitrite Salts: violent explosions if melted, Potassium Chlorate: violent reaction).
