Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice : Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. When symptoms persist or in all cases of doubt seek medical advice.
Inhalation : Remove from exposure, lie down. Move to fresh air. Keep patient warm and at rest. Artificial respiration and/or oxygen may be necessary. Consult a physician.
Skin contact : Take off all contaminated clothing immediately. Flush area with lukewarm water. Do not use hot water. If frostbite has occurred, call a physician.
Eye contact : Hold eyelids apart and flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention.
Ingestion : Is not considered a potential route of exposure.
Notes to physician
Treatment : Do not give adrenaline or similar drugs.
Fire-fighting measures
Specific hazards during fire fighting : pressure build-up

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters : In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear neoprene gloves during cleaning up work after a fire.
Further information : Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment. Cool containers / tanks with water spray.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions : Immediately evacuate personnel to safe areas. Keep upwind of leak - evacuate until gas has dispersed. Ventilate area, especially low or enclosed places where heavy vapours might collect. Pay attention to the spreading of gases especially at ground level (heavier than air) and to the direction of the wind. Refer to protective measures listed in sections 7 and 8.
Environmental precautions : Should not be released into the environment.
Methods for cleaning up : Evaporates. Prevent further leakage or spillage.
Handling and storage
Handling
Advice on safe handling : Handle product only in closed system or provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery. Do not breathe vapor or mist. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. For personal protection see section 8. Engineering and/or administrative controls, in combination with personal protective equipment, should be employed to protect workers from exposure hazards. Prevent workers from being in areas where HFP is present.
Advice on protection against fire and explosion : No special protective measures against fire required.
Requirements for storage areas and containers : Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Store in original container. Protect from contamination. Keep locked up or in an area accessible only to qualified or authorised persons. Storage and work areas should be monitored for HFP to assure that the OEL is not exceeded.
Area monitoring with alarm system for areas where bulk HFP is stored and transferred to polymerization or chemical reactor.
Advice on common storage : No materials to be especially mentioned.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Engineering measures
Refill and handle product only in closed system. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Should be handled in a "Limited Access, Designated Area" by trained personnel using totally enclosed equipment and containers.
Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection:For rescue and maintenance work in storage tanks use self-contained breathing apparatus. Vapours are heavier than air and can cause suffocation by reducing oxygen available for breathing. When workers are facing concentrations above the exposure limit they must use appropriate certified respirators. Wear a positive-pressure supplied-air respirator with full face piece.
Hand protection:Material: Neoprene
Please observe the instructions regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into consideration the specific local conditions under which the product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and the contact time,
Heat insulating gloves
Eye protection : Safety glasses with side-shields Additionally wear a face shield where the possibility exists for face contact due to splashing, spraying or airborne contact with this material.
Skin and body protection : Wear chemical resistant clothing to prevent ANY contact with this material such as gloves, aprons, boots, or whole body suit made of neoprene.
Hygiene measures : Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
Protective measures : Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use.
Stability and reactivity
Conditions to avoid : The product is not flammable in air under ambient conditions of temperature and pressure. When pressurised with air or oxygen, the mixture may become flammable. Certain mixtures of HCFCs or HFCs with chlorine may become flammable or reactive under certain conditions.
Materials to avoid : Alkali metals, Alkaline earth metals, Powdered metals, Powdered metal salts
Hazardous decomposition products : Carbon oxides, Hydrogen fluoride, Carbonyl fluoride, Fluorocarbons
Hazardous reactions : Stable under recommended storage conditions.
Disposal considerations
Product : Can be used after re-conditioning.

Contaminated packaging : Empty pressure vessels should be returned to the supplier.
