Additional information

Assessment based on acute median effect value of 40 mg/L found in fish, the assessor has decided to use 40 mg/L as conservative approach. the assessment factors from the guideline were used. The logKow value was determined to be < -1, this was used to determin the PNEC sediment and soil via the equilibtium partitioning method by using EUSES 2.1.

Conclusion on classification

The critical EC50-value of the test substance is determined at 40 mg/L (short-term toxicity study in fish). As in addition, the test substance is determined as being not readily biodegradable, the test substance is to be classified as Aquatic Chronic category 3 (H412) according to the EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008. For the same reasons, according to the criteria in Directive 67/548/EEC, the substance is classified as R52/53.
