Additional information

Acute tests on all three trophic levels were performed to examine the aquatic toxicity of 2-ethylhexyl acetate. Fish turned out to be the most sensitive species revealing an LC50 (96h) of 8.27 mg/L. Thus, 2-ethylhexyl acetate is considered to be acutely toxic to aquatic organisms. Effects of 2-ethylhexyl acetate towards daphnia and algae were found in the same range providing a EC50 (48h) of 22.9 mg/L for daphnia and an EC50 (72h) > 21.9 mg/L for algae.
