Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial
respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen and
contact a physician.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes. Call a physician if irritation continues.
Emergency measure - Skin: Agrotain: Immediately remove contaminated clothing. Wash
skin thoroughly with soap and water. Call a physician if
irritation develops.
UMAXX and UFLEXX: If irritation occurs wash affected area
with soap and water. Call a physician if irritation
persists.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Immediatley call a physician
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, Carbon dioxide or dry powder are recommended.
Product arising from burning: Thermal decomposition will produce oxides of carbon,
nitrogen and sulfur.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective
equipment.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Agrotain: Evacuate personnel and thoroughly ventilate area.
Remove all sources of ignition. Don personal protective
equipment. Dike spill. Absorb with inert material and
collect for disposal. Scrub contaminated area with
detergent and water. Prevent clean-up liquid from entering
sewers, waterways or low areas. Soak up with sand or
absorbant material. Consult an expert on the disposal of
recovered material. Ensure disposal is in compliance with
government requirements.
UMAXX and UFLEXX: Don personal protective equipment. contain
spill. Sweep up spilled material and apply per label
directions.
Handling and storage
Handling: Use with adequate ventilation. Respiratory protection is
not required under normal use. Wear rubber gloves, safety
glasses or goggles, long sleeved shirt , long pants and
shoes. Washing facilities should be available.
Storage: Storage in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from
sources of ignition.
Agrotain: Store in a well ventilated area. Store at a
temperature between 0 - 38 degrees C. Keep container
tightly closed. do not store or consume food, drink or
tobacco in areas where they may become contaminated with
this material.
UMAXX and UFLEXX: Store in clean and dry area. Do not store
or consume food, drink or tobacco in areas where they may
become contaminated with this material.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Agrotain will be shipped in 9.46 liter polypropylene jugs or
946 litre polypropylene mini-bulk containers.
UMAXX and UFLEXX will be shipped in 500 and 1000 kilo
polyethylene super sacks.
