Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method C.2 (Acute Toxicity for Daphnia)
Version / remarks:
Guidline OECD 202
Deviations:
yes
Remarks:
during the definitive experiment temperature was maintained in a range of 20.4 - 21.9 C, therefore temperature deviated more than limit recommended by Duidline : +/- 1 C. Still all validity criteria were met, therefore conclusion is that this deviation ha
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)

Test material

Constituent 1
Chemical structure
Reference substance name:
Reaction products of acetic acid and acetylferrocene and butan-1-ol and 2-methylpropan-1-ol and propan-1-ol and propan-2-ol
EC Number:
700-283-7
Molecular formula:
Exact molecular formula is not known as it is a reaction mass. Empiric formula: C5H5FeC5H4COCmHn
IUPAC Name:
Reaction products of acetic acid and acetylferrocene and butan-1-ol and 2-methylpropan-1-ol and propan-1-ol and propan-2-ol
Details on test material:
According to INQ-C-0000036278-61-01, INQ-C-0000036386-62-01, and INQ_RESULT_INQ-C-0000036417-65-01 from ECHA, identification of a substance has been changed to UVCB substance. Name of the substance on the study results is the old name (reaction mass of butan-1-ol and propan-2-ol, ReduxCo), however these reports should be regarded valid as all studies were performed on the substance that is being registered - ReduxCo.

Remarks:
Daphnia magna immobilization
Effect conc.:
> 100 mg/L
Nominal / measured:
meas. (arithm. mean)
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Remarks:
20mL of test solution per each animal
Basis for effect:
mobility
Remarks:
ability to swim
Remarks on result:
other: not determined due to mathematical reasons

Any other information on results incl. tables

During the experiment in tested concentration no signs of immobilization were found. Therefore conclusion is that the limit concentration of 100 mg/L has no toxic effect to Daphnia magna.

Hence, median concentration causing 50% immobilization of tested Daphnia magna population (EC50/48h) is above 100 mg/L, EC0/48h value is above 100 mg/L, and EC100/48h is above 100 mg/L.

LOEC: 3.2 mg/L for yield and 10 mg/L for average growth rate

NOEC: 1.0 mg/L for yield and 3.2 for average growth rate

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Remarks:
immobilization of test animals on control was 0% (should not exceed 10%) and concentration of dissolved oxygen was kept in range of 8.20 - 9.67 mg/L (should be >= 3.0 mg/L)
Conclusions:
Based on the test results and according to the EC criteria for classification and labelling requirements for dangerous substances and preaprationd the test substance did not fall into any of quoted categories of dangerous for environment and has no obligatory labelling requirements in this respect.
Executive summary:

Based on the test results and according to the EC criteria for classification and labelling requirements for dangerous substances and preaprationd the test substance did not fall into any of quoted categories of dangerous for environment and has no obligatory labelling requirements in this respect.
