PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

No conclusion can be reached for the bioaccumulation potential based on available information. Indeed, the Bioconcentration factor (BCF) is not available and is not required for the tonnage band. Based on the log Kow, the substance can be considered potentially bioaccumulable. However, considering the ready biodegradation and liver metabolism observed in rodents repeated dose toxicity study and one-generation reproduction toxicity studies, the potential bioaccumulation can be mitigated.

The substance is readily biodegradable therefore does not meet the criterion for persistence (P), and is not considered toxic (T). Long-term studies are available on the 3 trophic levels and the lowest EC10 value is 0.121 mg/L for Daphnia magna. The substance is not classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction and there is no other evidence of chronic toxicity.

In conclusion, the substance could not be considered as a PBT or vPvB substance.

Likely routes of exposure:
