Additional information

As reported in SCOEL/SUM/178 of December 2012 for N-methylaniline with reference to Treon et all, J Ind Hyg Toxicol 31:1-20, 1949 N-methylaniline is apparently not irritating to the skin. No signs of irritation were seen after dermal application of lethal doses to the intact skin of rabbits.

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008), 3.2 Skin corrosion/irritation section, skin irritation means the production of reversible damage to the skin following the application of a test substance for up to 4 hours.

N-methylaniline is not classified for skin irritation/corrosion according to the CLP Regulation (EC n. 1272/2008).
