Test organisms

Test organisms (species):
Daphnia magna
Details on test organisms:
Daphnia magna, not being the first brood progeny, was the test species. The test organisms were 6 to 24 hours old at the start of the test.
All organisms used for a particular test originated from cultures established from the samehealthy stock of daphnia.

Study design

Test type:
static
Water media type:
freshwater
Limit test:
yes
Total exposure duration:
48 h

Test conditions

Test temperature:
20.8 - 21.5 °C
pH:

Dissolved oxygen:
88% to 101% of air saturation
Nominal and measured concentrations:
150 mg/L (nominal)
2.99 mg/L (measured)
Details on test conditions:
Test solutions at different concentrations were prepared by directly adding appropriate amounts of the test substance to the growth medium and
then facilitating its dispersion by ultrasonication for 30 min. After this the test substance preparations were stirred for 24 hours and then divided to the breakers with 50mL each. After a period of one hour for precipitation of the test substance when the test solutions were visually clear, the test
organisms were inserted.
Reference substance (positive control):
yes
