Conclusion on classification
Biodegradation
The ready biodegradability of the test substance was investigated according to the OECD guideline 301F: Manometric Respirometry (1992). The biodegradation of the test substance was followed by exposing it in a mineral medium and incubated for 28 days under aerobic conditions. At the end of the test, after 28 days, the test substance was biodegraded by 79%. Therefore, the test substance is classified as readily biodegradable. The validity criteria were met.
Acute toxicity
In a static immobilization test to Daphnia magna according to OECD 202 the EC50 was determined to be 1.7 mg/L after 48 hours exposure under GLP conditions.
The toxicity of the test item to the freshwater green algae Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was determined in a test according to OECD guideline 201. The test revealed an EC50 value of 5.29 mg/L, an EC10 value of 1.89 mg/L and a NOEC of 0.673 mg/L. The values are based on the growth rate.
Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008
The available experimental test data is reliable and suitable for classification purposes under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008. Based on available data on aquatic toxicity and biodegradation, the test item is classified as hazardous to the aquatic environment (long-term) into hazard category Aquatic Chronic 2 and labeled with H411 (Toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects) according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), as amended for the eighth time in Regulation (EU) No 2016/918.
