Description of key information

Repeated dose toxicity inhalation: supporting study: result from a publication leading to the conclusion that ethyleneimine produced gonadotropic, mutagenic and blastomogenic effects.
Repeated dose toxicity other routes: supporting studies: results from publications leading to the conclusion that ethyleneimine i.v. induces renal papillary necrosis and ethyleneimine s.c. produced sarcomas at site of injection, Harderian gland tumors, lung tumors and malignant hepatomas.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Repeated dose toxicity inhalation: supporting study: experimental result from a publication. In rats, 4 months. It is concluded that ethyleneimine produced gonadotropic, mutagenic and blastomogenic effects.

Repated dose toxicity other routes: supporting studies: experimental results from different publications. It is concluded the following:

In rats, one i.v. injection: ethyleneimine induces three types of renal cortical damage (papillary necrosis).

In mice, s.c., 48 weeks: ethyleneimine produced sarcomas at site of injection, Harderian gland tumors, lung tumors and malignant hepatomas.
