Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

After inhalation: fresh air

in case of  skin contact: Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water/shower.

After eye contact: rinse out with plenty of water. Remove contact lenses.

After swallowing: immediately make victim drink water (two glass at most). Consult a physician.

Most important symptoms and effects, both accute and delayed: Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: water, CO2, foam, dry powder

Unsuitable extinguishing media: For this substance no limitations of extinguishing agents are given.

Special hazards: combustible, development of hazardous combustion gases or vapours possible in the event of fire.

Fire may cause evolution of HCl gas, nitrogen oxides

Fire-fighters: Stay in danger area only with self-contained breathing apparatus. Prevent skin contact by keeping a safe distance or by wearing suitable protective clothing.

Suppress (knock down) gases/vapours/mists with a water spray jet. Prevent fire extinguishing water from contaminating surface water or the ground water system. Prevent fire-extinguishing water from contaminating surface water or the ground water system.

Accidental release measures

Advice for non-emergency personnel: Avoid substance contact, avoid inhalation of dusts, ensure adequate ventilation, evacuate the danger area, observe emergency procedures, consult an expert

Environmental precaution: Do not empty into drains.

Cover drains, collect, bind, and pump off spills. Take up dry, dispose of properly, clean up affected area, avoid generation of dusts

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe label precautions.

Storage: Store tightly closed and dry.

Hygiene: Change contaminated clothing. Preventive skin protection recommended, wash hands after after working with substance.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Contains no substance with occupational exposure limit values.

Technical measures and appropriate working operations should be given priority over the use of personal protective equipment.

Personal protective equipment: Protective clothing  needs to be selected specifically for the workplace, depending on concentrations and quantities of the hazardous substances handled. The chemical resistance of the protective equipment  should be enquired with the respective supplier.

Respiratory protection:       required when dusts are generated. Recommended filter type: Filter P 2 (acc. to DIN 3181) for solid and liquid particles of harmful substances

Eye protection:       safety glasses

Hand protection:       In splash contact:

Gloves

             Glove material:        nitrile rubber

             Layer thickness:        0.11   mm

             Breakthrough time: 480   Min.

The  protective gloves to be used must comply with the specifications of  EC  Directive  89/686/EEC  and  the related standard EN374.

Other protective equipment: Suitable protective clothing.

Industrial hygiene:       Immediately change contaminated clothing. Apply preventive skin-protective. Wash hands and face after working with substance.

Do not let product enter drains.

Stability and reactivity

The following applies in general to flammable organic substances and mixtures: in correspondingly fine distribution, when whirled up a dust explosion potential may generally be assumed.

The product is chemically stable under standard ambient conditions (room temperature).

Violent reactions possible with strong oxidizing agents and bases.

Strong heating: no information available

incompatible materials: no information available

hazardous decomposition products: in the vent of fire: HCl and nitrogen oxides, otherwise: no information available.

Disposal considerations

Waste material must be disposed of in accordance with the Directive on waste 2008/98/EC as well as other national and local regulations. Leave chemicals in original containers. No mixing with other waste. Handle uncleaned containers like the product itself.
