Additional information

Isobutyrophenone was tested for acute toxicity in rats after oral administration. Mortality occurred 23 hours after treatment and on day 3 of the study.The median lethal doses(LD50),determined by logit analysis, after an observation period of 14 days, were:

- 2167 (1718 - 2732) mg/kg for males and females;

- > 2000 mg/kg for males; and

- 1946 (1734 - 2185) mg/kg for females.

Justification for classification or non-classification

There are conclusive but not sufficient data for classification of Isobutyrophenone with regard to acute oral toxicity.
