The mastersizer 2000 (Malvern) is based on the principles of Low Angle Laser Light Scattering (LALLS) in order to determine the particle size distribution. This method is based on the fact that diffraction angle is inversely proportional to particle size, that means, small particles scatter light at wide angles and large particles scatter light at narrow angles.
