Description of key information

Estimation based on solubility ratio:

Log Pow= >5 at 23°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The test item is a complex mixture of components, which strongly differ in their chemical behaviour. Each of the single components of this mixture shows different properties, even concerning to solubility and partitiontherefore it is not possible to determine the logPow experimentally by the shake flask method nor by an alternative method (HPLC, TLC).

The logPow value was estimated from the single solubilities in n-octanol and in water. It is also not possible to estimate a generally valid log Pow value from the single solubilities in n-octanol and in water.

Further as weight of evidence the partition coefficient on the target substance can be estimated using the solubility in n-octanol of the source substance and the results are as follows:

log Pow= 5.9 with a water solubility at a loading rate of 0.4 g/L

log Pow= 5.4 with a water solubility at a loading rate of 4.0 g/L

It can be suggested that the partition coefficient of the target substance was estimated to be logPow= >5
