Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Non flammable liquid. The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases on contact with water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The substance is a liquid therefore the flammability will be deducted from the flash point (see section 4.11), the substance is not flammable.

Based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties and flammability in contact with water are not to be expected.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

The available experimental test data is reliable and suitable for classification purposes under Regulation 1272/2008. The flash point of the test substance was determined to be 135 °C, the boiling point was determined to be 245.8 °C at 1013.25 hPa. As a result the substance is not considered to be classified for flammable liquids under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, as amended for the ninth time in Regulation (EU) No 2016/1179.

Furthermore, the substance is not considered to be classified as readily combustible solid, self-heating substance, substances which in contact with water emit flammable gases, pyrophoric liquid, pyrophoric solid, flammable gases or as aerosol.
