Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Based on negative Ames tests on two fluorine-containing monomers structurally close to HFIB (C4H2F6): Hexafluoropropylene (HFP, C3F6 - CAS 116-15-4) and Hexafluoroacetone (HFA, C3F6O - CAS 684-16-2), it can be considered that HFIB is not susceptible to show mutagenic activity in bacterial systems.
