Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Justification for type of information:
The test substance is only used as an intermediate in the manufacture of alkyd resin dispersions. Hence, it is not considered to be exposed to the aquatic environment as such as it is incorporated into the polymeric matrix. The aqueous dispersions of the alkyd resin polymer, following treatment with organic amines, have shown storage stability over several months without degradation. Also, as the pH of the final product is about 7-8, the polymer is considered to be stable even under slightly alkaline conditions. Based on this information, no further testing on the test substance is required as per Annex XI of REACH.

Description of key information

Hydrolysis testing of the substance was waived as scientifically not necessary, based on other information.
