flash point of flammable liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the flash point is only relevant to liquids and low melting point solids

Description of key information

Not required

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to the EU Method A.9 of Regulation EC n. 440/2008, "The flash-point is the lowest temperature, corrected to a pressure of 101,325 kPa, at which a liquid evolves vapours, under the conditions defined in the test method, in such an amount that a flammable vapour/air mixture is produced in the test vessel." At 25 °C and 101.325 kPa, the test substance is a pasty solid, therefore, the test does not need to be conducted.
