Description of key information

The biodegradability of 3-cyano-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexanone was determined in the "Modified Screening Test" by TNO (1991) according to OECD TG 301 E. Activated sludge was used as inocoulum and the DOC removal was measured at regular intervals over a period of 42 days. No biodegradation was observed at both test concentrations (16.34 and 32.68 mg 3-cyano-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexanone/L) within the first 28 days of the test period. Hence 3-cyano-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexanone is considered as not readily biodegradable.
