The particle size distribution of the test substance was investigated by laser diffraction based on Mie Scattering (non-GLP, 2016) and the average size of particles has been determined to be 29.032 µm (D10 = 4.47 µm, D25 = 12.11 µm, D50 = 24.32 µm, D90 = 60.05 µm).

According to the results, the inhalation of particles has to be regarded:

- 100% are <100 µm (inhalable fraction)

- ~ 20% are <10 µm (thoracic fraction)

- ~9% are < 4µm (respirable fraction)
