Conclusion on classification

Based on the weight-of-evidence approach described in the endpoint summary of section 6.1, ytterbium trinitrate is very toxic to aquatic life. Considering this conclusion together with the fact that being inorganic, it is not subject to biodegradation, ytterbium trinitrate has to be classified in:

- aquatic acute toxicity cat. 1 (H400),

- aquatic chronic toxicity cat. 1 (H410).
