Additional information

Abiotic degradation of Lauric acid ester with hydroxypropanediyl diacetate (CAS 30899-62-8) is not a relevant degradation pathway. Since the substance is not likely to be present in the atmosphere based on the low vapour pressure (< 0.0001 Pa at 20 °C), indirect photodegradation in air is not to be expected. However, if released to the atmospheric compartment the substance is rapidly degraded by OH-radicals (DT50 < 24 h). Abiotic hydrolysis is not relevant, since the substance is readily biodegradable and thus expected to be eliminated through biodegradation in natural waters. Moreover, the DT50 values obtained from QSAR calculations do not indicate that hydrolysis is a dominant degradation pathway in the environment (DT50 23.4 - 192.8 d at pH7; 19.3 - 231.41 d at pH8).
