Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Hydrolysis can be a significant reaction of organic compounds in aqueous environmental compartments. Therefore, the hydrolysis of S-141 in sterile aqueous solutions buffered at pH levels of 4, 7, and 9 was investigated at varying temperatures according to OECD method 111 under GLP.
The following half-lives were obtained:
DT 50 at pH 4 and 35 C was 219 days
DT 50 at pH 7 and 25 C was 102-109 days
DT 50 at pH 9 and 25 C was 40,8 days
Hydrolysis rate was directly proportional to an increase in pH and in temperature, which indicates that hydrolysis could be a dissipation route for S-141 in the environment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Half-life for hydrolysis:
109 d
at the temperature of:
25 °C
