REFERENCE SUBSTANCE
-Acetanilide, > 99.9 %, CAS 103-84-4, log Koc 1.26 (according to the OECD 121)

PREPARATION OF SOLUTIONS
A stock solution of the reference substance (1 g/L) in methanol was diluted to obtain an end solution of 55/45 (v/v) methanol/water.
A 1744 mg/L stock solution of the test substance was diluted to obtain an end solution of 55/45 (v/v) methanol/water. The final concentration of the test substance solution was 959 mg/L.

PERFORMANCE OF THE TEST
The reference substance and test substance solutions were injected in duplicate. Blank solution (55/45 (v/v) methanol/water) was analysed by single injection.

Type:
log Koc
Value:
< 1.26
Temp.:
35 °C
Type:
Koc
Value:
< 18.2
Details on results (HPLC method):
In the HPLC chromatograms of the test solution, one peak with retention time of 2.07 min was observed. Under the same analytical conditions, the retention time of reference substance acetanilide (with log Koc of 1.26) was 2.12 minutes
Conclusions:
The HPLC method using soil-adsorption-reference data was applied for the determination of the adsorption coefficient (Koc) of the substance, resulting in a log Koc < 1.26 for the substance (Koc < 18.2). The study was performed in accordance with EC C.9 and OECD 121 and according to the principles of GLP.

Description of key information

The HPLC method based on soil-adsorption-reference data was applied for the determination of the adsorption coefficient (Koc) of the substance, resulting in a log Koc of < 1.26 (Koc < 18.2).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
18.2

Additional information

Key value for CSA: Koc at 20 °C< 18.2; log Koc at 20 °C < 1.26

The study was performed in accordance with EC C.19 and OECD 121 and according to the principles of GLP.

Based on the measured data the substance is considered as highly mobile in the soil compartment.

[LogKoc: 1.26]
