Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Pretest Information:

A differential thermoanalysis method (DTA) was used to determine the transition temperatures of the test item to be:

- Melting range: 79 -124 °C (DTA-endotherm peak)

- Decomposition: 147- 407 °C (DTA-exotherm peak)

Conclusions:
The vapour pressure of Epoxid-Valerat was 5.8 x 10 E-9 Pa measured at 25°C.
Executive summary:

The temperature dependence of the vapour pressure was determined according to the guidance A.4 of the European Community (Anhang zur Richtlinie 92/69/EEC vom 31.07.1992). The vapour pressure was measured with a vapour pressure balance in the temperature range 120-150 °C corresponding to the Knudsen effusion method. For measurement, the vapour jet of the test substance leaving a heatable Knudsen cell through an aperture of known size under high vacuum conditions is condensed on the cooled scale pan of a precision Cahn-microbalance. The vapour pressures were calculated for 20, 25 and 30 °C using a semilogarithmic linear regression based on the Antoin equation. The vapour pressure of Epoxid-Valerat at 20, 25 and 30 °C were determined as 2.5 x 10E-9, 5.8 x 10E-9 and 1.3 x 10E-8 Pa, respectively.

Description of key information
