First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures
General advice: Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately. Adhere to personal protective measures when giving first aid. If someone exposed to the product feels unwell, contact a doctor and show the safety data sheet.

In case of inhalation: in the event of symptoms bring the patient to fresh air.

In case of skin contact: wash off immediately with polyethylene glycol 400, then with plenty of water. Consult a doctor if skin irritation persists.

In case of eye contact: Rinse the affected eye immediately with plenty of water and at the same time keep the unaffected eye well protected.

In case of ingestion: In case of problems seek medical advice and show the package or label.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treatment: treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media: foam, water spray jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Specific hazards during firefighting:
In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO), Nitrous gases (NOx), Sulphur dioxide (SO2)

Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment for firefighters: well closed full protective clothing (coat and pants) including helmet. In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information: Fire residues and contaminated fire extinguishing water must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Personal precautions: Refer to protective measures listed in “Handling and Storage” and “Exposure controls/personal protection”.

Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Avoid subsoil penetration.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up
Methods for cleaning up: Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust. Sweep up or vacuum up spillage and collect in suitable container for disposal. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly while observing environmental regulations.

Additional advice: Information regarding safe handling, see “Handling and Storage”. Information regarding personal protective measures, see “Exposure controls/personal protection”. Information regarding water disposal, see “Disposal considerations”.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling
Advice on safe handling: Avoid dust formation. Provide exhaust ventilation.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: take measures to prevent the buildup of electrostatic charge. Avoid shock and friction. Keep away from sources ignition – No smoking. In principle, with organic products, which are – intentionally or unintentionally – in powdered form, the danger of a dust explosion should be kept in mind.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Further information on storage conditions: Container should not be closed air-tight. Keep container tightly closed and dry in a cool, well-ventilated place. Protect from light.

Advice on common storage: Keep away from food and drink.

Specific end use(s): No information available.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters
Contains no substances with occupational exposure limit values.

Exposure Controls
Engineering measures: Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.

Personal protective equipment
Respiratory protection: Use respiratory protection in case of insufficient exhaust ventilation or prolonged exposure. Recommended filter type: P2 filter.

Hand protection: Chemical resistant gloves according to category III of DIN EN 374

Remarks: With solid dry substances permeation is not to be expected, therefore the breakthrough-time for this protective glove has not been measured.

Eye protection: Tightly fitting safety goggles.

Hygiene measures: When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Keep away from food and drink. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product. Use barrier skin cream.

Protective measures: Do not inhale dust. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Observe the usual precautions for handling chemicals.
Keep product away from skin, as it will colour it yellow quite intensively.

Environmental exposure controls
General advice: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Avoid subsoil penetration.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity
No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.

Chemical Stability
No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Possibility of hazardous reactions
hazardous reactions: Reactions with alkalies. Reactions with oxidizing agents. Exothermic reaction.

Conditions to avoid: No data available.

Incompatible materials
Materials to avoid: no data available.

Hazardous decomposition products: No decomposition if stored and applied as directed.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods
Product: Dispose of contents/containers to an approved was disposal plant.

Contaminated packaging: Dispose of as unused product.
