Description of key information

Long-term toxicity to invertebrates: 21-d NOEC: =4.9  µg/l (measured; highest concentration tested) read-across from the analogous/struturally related substance decamethyltetrasiloxane (L4, CAS 141-62-8).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A 21-day EC50 of >4.9 µg/l and NOEC of =4.9 µg/l (measured, highest concentration tested) (guideline OECD 211) have been determined for the effects of the analogous/structurally related substance decamethyltetrasiloxane (L4, CAS 141-62-8) on adult mortality, reproduction and growth of Daphnia magna. In view of the use of flow-through test conditions it is likely that the test organisms were exposed primarily to the parent substance.
