The target substance (L-menthyl acetate, CAS 2623-23-6) is not considered to be readily biodegradable based on the result from an experimental study according to EU Method C.4 -E (closed bottle test) with the structurally related racemic mixture of menthyl acetate (CAS 89 -48 -5) where a significant fraction of 48% of the substance was degraded. Reliable (Q)SAR calculations indicate that the substance is not likely to be persistent in the environment.
