An octanol-water partition coefficient value of 1.19 at 25°C and pH 7.1 was determined for trimethylsilanol in a reliable study conducted according to an appropriate test protocol, and in compliance with GLP. This is supported by a second reliable study that reports a log Kow value of 1.22 at 25°C.
Another log Kowvalue of 1.62 at 40°C is reported in a study conducted according to an appropriate guideline and in compliance with GLP. However, the selected mobile phase constituents were unsuitable for this type of substance. Furthermore, an important corrective adjustment that is necessary for interpretation of HPLC data for organosilicon substances was discovered much later than the date of testing, and was not performed. This study is disregarded.
